Cross Pollination is Good
This thought is geared more towards non-corporate podcasts. I've made 20 second promos for other like shows in the past, and they generally reciprocate by sending me promos. A little snippet like "This is Jon Watson from The JaK Attack! Podcast. You're listening to the kick-butt Show X with Host A and B" sounds pretty good in a show. It adds a little professionalism and it lets your listeners know that you talk to other podcasters. This may not seem like much, but if your show is targetted then it's very likely your listeners also listen to other like shows. If you swap promos it makes the thing seem like a big family.
