Japanese podcasting Survey
Nifty has just completed a 3,400-respondent survey based on its Podcasting Juice portal (good luck with that last link).

I find it interesting that a lot of the numbers in Japan look a lot like the numbers here in North America.
  • The typical listener is male and in his 30's
  • About 30% use an RSS reader (it's unclear whether they're referring to a podcatcher here, but I'm guessing they are)
Those numbers are pretty similar to stats that I've seen from North American surveys which is really quite astounding when you think about it. Our cultures are very, very different yet we seem to partake in podcasts in much the same way.
