A Deeper Look into Apple's Cease and Desist Letters

Russell Shaw has done a little investigative reporting into the recent Apple crease-and-desist letter run and has posted his findings on ZDNet.

In short, Shaw has uncovered three things that may be fuelling Apple's vigor:

  • Apple is having trouble trademarking iPod
  • Apple is attempting to trademark "IPODCAST"
  • Apple is attempting to expand the POD brand

The article is quite long and contains so much legalese that my eyes are bleeding, but it's a very interesting read.
