However, the elite few that roll their own feeds have to know the nitty gritty details about how an enclosure element is created. The beast looks something like this:
<enclosure url="http://www.mydomain.com/mp3s/mypodcast.mp3" length="12216320" type="audio/mpeg" />
Note the "type" item. That's the mime type and if I was rolling my own podcast feed I would have to know the mime type for my audio or video file. For quick reference, Feed For All has put together a list of possible mime types.
